The word coach traces back to the Hungarian town of Kocs, where the first 4-wheeled coaches were built. By the 1800s, Oxford University used coach to mean a private tutor, someone who carries and prepares others for success. The 4-wheeled coach – No. 9 – symbolises that spirit: a trusted partnership between the leader and the executive coach on the leader’s journey, or transition, to even greater leadership.
